DIY Pantry Items

There’s another Pantry Party coming up and I know what I’m bringing, but then another friend wanted to throw another party and I was vexed. I was wondering if I should bring the same thing or something else. Should I make it or collect it?

I love going to these parties they are so fun. They inspire me to make things that I have been thinking about doing for awhile, but I realized I don’t have to make anything. I can use these parties as an outlet to order bulk herbs that I love or make large amounts of dry mixes that I use a lot and give some/store some.

I use a ton of spices, but they still don’t get turned over quick enough for my taste. This could be the perfect outlet for that. I’ll let you know what I come up with.

Fun ‘problem’ to solve.

You, Jora et al have inspired a pantry party up here in PT–I'm in the process of planning one with a friend. It's such a great idea, we just had to copy! 🙂

I'm so jealous of your pantry parties!

Have you checked out that spice shop in Hillcrest on University? Could be a good place to load up on some unusual finds to give out!

I love that we finally have a spice shop in town. I usually purchase in bulk to get organic fresh spices that I love. I have been known to order from http://www.worldspice.com/ too. I love their curry mixes.

Maybe a meat / BBQ rub since it's turning into grill season? Since I'm from NM I might put some red chile powder in there 🙂

I am making a bbq rub. I'm thinking of going with an indian version and a mexican one. We will see…

Maybe a BBQ rub since it's almost grill season? Since I'm from NM I might sneak some red chile powder in there 🙂
