Triple Ginger Hot Toddy

A couple of weeks ago I had a cold and I rediscovered the beauty of the hot toddy. It’s the upside of sickness, but you don’t have to be completely ill to enjoy it.

TRIPLE GINGER HOT TODDY
1 cup hot water
1 Pukka Three Ginger Herbal Tea Bag
1 tablespoons honey
2-3 tablespoons bourbon
juice of half a lemon

TO MAKE
Pour hot water over tea bag and honey. Allow to steep for at least 5 min. Remove tea bag. Add bourbon. Squeeze in lemon juice. Twist a strip of lemon peel over drink, then add to glass. Serve.

I wish you'd posted this last week when I was dying! I don't know that I've ever had a hot toddy.

Awe, I wish I had too, but you don't have to be sick to like it. This recipe is pretty good too. http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2011/12/honey-bourbon-toddy

My husband (the family practice doc) swears by hot toddies for colds. Good old fashioned medicine! 🙂

i used to fake coughs so that my mom would give me some out of the 'special' honey bear that had toddy on demand. so much tastier than cough syrup 😉
