I have been working with Shelly Phegley at Cordial Organics for a few years now formulating and researching how to use CBD for skincare. I thought I would share some of the things I have learned and experienced.
One of the things that made me the most excited in the beginning of our research was that your skin has its very own endocannabinoid system (ECS) that’s complete with its own receptors tasked with homeostasis. That is a rockstar quality when you are looking to help pathological skin conditions such as: acne, dermatitis, psoriasis, and seborrhea to name a few. This lead us to to move ahead with formulas that would help CBD amplify and support this balancing act.
Applying CBD topically is an effective method for introducing cannabinoids to the skin’s ECS because the application is focused and allows for immediate absorption into the ECS. In addition to regulating the skin’s overall health, cannabinoids also benefit the skin due to their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial qualities.
I have found it very helpful in keeping my skin’s oil production and inflammation in check. I love layering Cordial Organics Hydrosols with Nourish Facial Oil. It keeps my skin hydrated, but more than that it keeps my mood elevated too.
Have you used CBD skincare? If so, what do you think?
