New and Improved Me

New Years Resolutions don’t really work with me. Nor does starting to exercise more on Monday. I psyche myself out. The only thing that I find that works well is just making a change when it strikes and sticking to it. Here’s a little food for thought for some change.

  1. Do what you have to, to do what you want. (The Great Debaters)
  2. Do the work.
  3. Prioritize.
  4. Get a routine.
  5. Stop allowing myself to become overwhelmed.
  6. Be here now.
  7. Don’t offend the Muse.
  8. Love.
  9. Relax.
  10. Enjoy.

I’m leaving with a quote by Miranda July from Nylon (I can’t remember the month). “Just because something’s uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s wrong. And just because you have your doubts about what you’re doing, or you don’t trust yourself 100 percent, that’s normal. There’s this illusion that people who do stuff are totally confident, and I’ve never been. I’ve been riddled with doubt through the whole thing. You know, with a few flashes of maybe, maybe this will be great.”
